Master Clint Norman
Dear CTFI Members,
On behalf of the Canadian Taekwon-Do Federation International, I would like to congratulate the Canadian delegation for an excellent showing at the World Championships held in Quebec City.
I am sure all the Instructors and fellow student from across Canada are proud of your accomplishments. Thank you to the CTFI Head Coach Mr. Don Smith and Assistant Coach Ms. Marie-Claude Messier for all your hard work. I would like to thank Ms. Claudia Bedard for her assist as team manager of the Canadian Team. A special mention to all the supporters which included family members and friends who were there to support Team Canada. Finally, a special thanks to Master Tran and the World Championship committee for an well organized Championship.
The CTFI Board of Directors would also like to acknowledge Mr. Kurt Ottesen CTFI Umpire Director and all the Canadian Umpires for a job well done. They all worked very hard throughout the Championships.
The results speak for themselves. The CTFI introduced in 2007 a new selection criteria which has proven to be a great success on both fronts which include athletes and umpires. The CTFI Board of Directors will be upgrading and improving it’s tournament and selection manual to insure even better results in the future. The CTFI also assisted our umpires for the first time thanks to all of our avenues of raising funds, which include buying from our official suppliers, tournament revenues, CTFI grade certificates. and the National Insurance program. The CTFI also supported it’s athletes by giving all the first place finishers and official team members that represented Canada an official tracksuit and dobok. To insure the same or even more support in the future we will need all our members to support the CTFI. The more you contribute the larger our budget! Keep in mind, even though you might of not been in person at the Worlds we know you were there with us in spirit, your financial support is greatly appreciated.
The CTFI is more then an organization, it’s a team! We should all be proud of being part of this machine that’s always moving forward, Canada’s true original National Organization. The more we support each other the more we can do for each other, and at the end of the day the result is we all gain!
In closing, It was very clear that Canada’s enthusiasm, and team spirit was a driving force during the Championships! United, we are a strong contender!
Again, thank you to all involved and congratulations!
Yours in Taekwon-Do,
Master C. Norman
