Biography

Prior to Taekwon-Do, 9th Degree Master Pierre Laquerre studied the Japanese Martial Art of Judo earning himself a silver Medal at the Quebec games after only six months of practice. In 1974 Master Pierre Laquerre began his training in Taekwon-do and in December of 1977 was promoted to Black Belt (C-1-140).

Master Laquerre had a long and very successful tournament career in Taekwon-Do earning the title of Canadian Champion for five consecutive years.   In May of 1986 during the International Karaté-Kung-Fu- Taekwon-do tournament, Master Laquerre won the Grand Championship. In 1987, Master Laquerre was selected to be captain of the Canadian Delegation at the ITF World Championships in Greece. The year after, 1988, he was again Selected on the National Delegation for the ITF World Championships in Hungary. Aside from World level competition, Master Laquerre competed in and won many titles in International competitions in such countries as USA, Puerto Rico and England.

In 1990 at the 7th World Taekwon-do Championships in Montreal Canada Master Laquerre earned the ultimate title of “ITF World Champion”.

The Founder of Taekwon-Do, General Choi Hong Hi awarded Master Laquerre the “Outstanding Instructor Award” for his work in developing Taekwon-Do in Canada through instructing and coaching. After many seminars on self defense accross Canada, Master Laquerre wrote the book: “I learn self defense”. Now this book is also available in Europe. Currently, Master Laquerre is the technical director for the CTFI.  In 2007 Master Laquerre stepped down as President of the Quebec Taekwon-Do Federation after 20 years of service developing ITF Taekwon-Do in the Province of Quebec.

In 2009 Master Pierre Laquerre was promoted to 8th Degree at the International instructors course held in New York.
