Dear Masters and Instructors.

It is my pleasure to invite you and your students to attend the 2009 ITF and CTFI Western Canadian Championships being held in beautiful Calgary, AB on March 7, 2009.

As I am sure you are aware, Calgary has many sights and attractions and will make a fantastic locale for this year’s competition and I encourage you to take some extra time in our city to visit some of the most beautiful and picturesque countryside in the entire world, Banff National Park is nestled in the base of the Rocky Mountains and is a one hour drive from Calgary. Should you wish to fly, Calgary has an International Airport and arrangements can be made for a shuttle to the hotel.

Please review the linked tournament package for all the information pertaining to this year’s event. Also, please take note of all deadlines; in order for the championships to finish according to schedule all divisions will need to be reviewed and finalized as well as all referee and judging assignments prior to the event. Also, all senior members (1st Dan and above ) will need to make themselves available for judging. Mr. Otteson will be conducting a short but informative referee and umpire refresher at my dojang on the Friday night, this will be a limited registration due to space, so I encourage you to contact me as soon as possible if you wish to attend as it is a great opportunity to learn more about judging and refereeing and will definitely aid in ensuring a fair and well judged competition.

I look forward to seeing you and your students in Calgary, AB on March 7, 2009. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions or concerns regarding the event.
Taekwon,

Chris Howes
