January 2014

Dear CTFI Members,

On behalf of the Canadian Taekwon-Do Federation International Board of Directors, I would like to wish you the Best in 2014. The CTFI and our committees are working hard to develop even more programs for our members.

The CTFI has budgeted funds and financial support for our National Team Delegation which includes:

  •  National team trainings ( two )
  • Umpires ( six )
  • Coaches ( six )
  • Team manager
  • Official team members.

The results were excellent with Canada finishing 7th overall. Congratulations to our coaching staff, all the athletes and delegation from Canada.

The CTFI financially supports other projects as per the request of our committees.

Our CTFI team is now working on developing and refining our present policies. Producing new manuals and therefore, improving the communication between members and committees.

2014-promises to be full of activities which include the Western, Eastern, and National Championships in Canada along with the World Cup in Jamaica, August 26th-30th. There will also be an IIC sanctioned by the ITF in St. Johns, Newfoundland June 27th -29th.

Master Laquerre, CTFI Technical Director will be conducting a pattern, sparring and self defense seminar February 22nd in Vancouver, BC. Master Laquerre continually offers courses across Canada to help standardize the technical level.

The CTFI under the direction of Master Ottesen the CTFI Umpire Director, his team of instructors, have offered umpire and judges certification courses across Canada, helping to develop a highly qualified team of umpires. Master Ottesen is also a member of the ITF Umpire committee.

The CTFI Tournament Director Mr. Reinelt is also standardizing the running of events in Canada. Thanks to his tireless efforts our Championships are by far more professional.

Special thanks, to all the other CTFI Directors who are working to make a difference in the developing a great organization we can all be proud being a member.

I would to thank my assistant Ms. Chelsea Stone 5th Dan for her work skills and effort in the day to day management and operations of the CTFI affairs.

Looking forward to seeing all of you in the near future!

Yours in Taekwon-Do,

Master C. Norman,

President
