The Saskatchewan Taekwon-Do Federation International hosted the Canadian National Taekwon-Do Championships March 16th and 17th in Regina. The event started on time Friday evening with group "A" and "B" patterns. The opening ceremonies were Saturday morning at 9:00 am. The President of the ITF Master Tran Trieu Quan, City of Regina councilor - Mr. Flegal, Masters, Officials and Group "A" athletes were presented by a RCMP colour guard and Bag Piper. The morning started off with Group "A" and "B" Black Belt sparring along with a colour belt events. The Nationals hosted 425 competitors from eight Provinces. The event finished at 8:30 pm. The overall response of the event was that the Nationals was well run and the Saskatchewan volunteers were very friendly and helpful. The CTFI also had it's AGM and elections. The results were CTFI President - Master Clint Norman, Eastern Vice President - Master Pierre Laquerre, Western Vice President - Mr. Kevin Reinelt, Tournament Director - Mr. Ken MacKenzie.
